Don't bother with (re)installing other things, if it crashes or doesn't show a display there's a problem in ST, not elsewhere.

I've checked the usual suspects (file writing for logging) but that's not it. And I see no exceptions, even in the debug version.

@DJ_DOGGY: Could you send me your .ini file (in a pm or via mail)? For XP that would be in C:\Documents and Settings\username\stereo_tool.ini . I'm guessing that this may be settings dependent.

@Brian: I think DJ_DOGGY's problem will be easier to find (since it actually crashes) and I suspect that it might be caused by the same thing... So I'll try that first. Otherwise I might need your .ini file as well.

Beta 20 is indeed badly broken. Pre and post amp don't work, AGC doesn't seem to be working, and who knows what else isn't working. I noticed it when my preset sounded significantly quieter than before. Beta 19 works, so it's a Beta 20 issue.
You're using the Winamp version, right? If there's a crash in the processing chain, Winamp will play back the input signal. So that's probably what's happening - I just don't understand why it doesn't happen here. Could be anything (settings, OS difference, ...).

I was thinking that this is the cause and delete this file to see how it starts with the default settings. But same thing .
I`ll send you the last ini from 6.32 .
May be the windows is doing this , any files that uses ST , i don`t know .

Menu improvement: IF it fits, higher levels are no longer hidden.

@DJ_DOGGY:
Your window is too small!
Load the old version, make the window higher, then load the new version again.

This still needs to be fixed (I need to make sure that it's not possible to make the window too small).

@Brian: Could you send me your ini file as well? DJ_DOGGY's problem has been solved (he just reported back). But that can't be your issue.

Copied from a few pages back.

To be done:
It would be nice to be able to return to the place where you were in the left menu in an easier way. But how??? -->
I have an idea. maybe when not fit all options on the menu could be solved by making a scrolling.

maybe a transition effect can help the user view:
please watch the video settings menu of the ipod: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dhg0qEBNng4

Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 33-021.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 33-021.exe

Menu behavior changed.
If you make the window smaller vertically the bottom bar disappears now.

Fixes:
- It would be nice to be able to return to the place where you were in the left menu in an easier way. But how??? --> SOLUTION: If there aren't so many screens anymore, it may be possible to display everything instead of hiding things. Fallback: If it does not fit hiding should be enabled. On bigger screens there will be no hiding at all. This will really help usability -> top priority
- Fix text cut off
- Make spaces smaller -> 5 to 3 pix
- Fix pull-down menu's (too wide)
- Fix 'mu' character
- Bypass button layout
- Fix crash for too small window size (remove button bar in that case)

Based on what you said, I made my window size as big as I could. It still happens.

I just made an additional discovery. If I load a built-in preset, then load something from Recent Preset, it retains the preamp and postamp settings from the built-in preset, while other things change.

If by "ini" you are meaning "sts", then I had sent you something for evaluation that I said "no rush", so you could use that, otherwise, I'd need to know what INI you're talking about.
