Yes, but that brings us back to the point where the changes are aesthetic, not technical. UI changes, not underlying quality improvements or bug fixes.

If you force an opinion on me that I should have to go out and buy a new monitor and possibly a new video card because you're unwilling to design something different, well, that's an "alienating" type of stance that you might feel ok taking with me, personally, but you run the risk of other people that do give you money that will be turned off.
Maybe you are a really great programmer and you can fix everything in one day. I can't. I'm moving towards the solution - for example for Multiband I went from 4 screens to 2 - which means that with just twice as much horizontal or vertical space the whole interface could fit. Before you would have needed about 4 times as much space - and right now I'm just trying to get feedback on how clear the current interface is. If it's good, I can expand it by putting more things in the display if it's big enough. If people start complaining that they can't find anything because there's too much on the screen already I may have to do something else. Just trying to get feedback here, to see what the next step needs to be. I could just stop posting versions and do whatever I think is good, and then post it 2 weeks from now - but I'm pretty sure that many people would not be happy with it so I'm trying to get feedback along the ride.

This is not THAT simple, because I have to make sure that it works for both small and large monitors - the current version works fine for smaller ones and yes, more is possible if you have a bigger monitor.

Only question for now: Is this BETTER than before?

Ow, and 1280x1024? The current interface fits at 800x600, with only 370 pixels in height for the actual settings. So for MB, if you need twice as much, that's 740 - your monitor will be big enough. And if I add it horizontally it will fit as well and you'll have even more room left for the bottom part.

There are countless others better than me, and I never asked you to.

Already told you it was. It's substantially better, actually. No longer has the "accesibility" feel, just needs consolidation so that there is less clicking around.

I had already told you my monitor resolution, and you replied TO ME saying that if I had a BIGGER SCREEN, it would fit. How else am I supposed to translate what you said OTHER THAN you telling me that 1280x1024 was going to be insufficient and I'd need a bigger monitor? I had no point of reference to go by, other than my own 19-inch at 1280x1024. Why would I think that a 15-inch at 800x600 was your reference point and you were talking about things bigger than that?

I get you're upset, but you're not communicating well yourself.

Like I said, I do not like droning on, because this inevitably happens. I'll just report bugs and usability issues of whatever the UI is from here on out.

Take care.

Minor cosmetic text issue in AGC. Under Bands, it lists Band 1, and Band 3. Band 3 needs to say Band 2.

Ok, sorry, must have been unclear - I don't think I said that you needed to buy a bigger monitor, but I may have said that "if you have a bigger monitor you can..." - and yes if I did I was thinking 'bigger than 800x600', because that's what the current interface needs as a minimum.

AGC bands: Fixed (Changed to 1+2 and 3; the first slider row contains 2 bands).

I've also made a small change to the TrueType-renderning of the font because people complained that it looked vague (and it did, a bit - as all TrueType applications do). Anyway it looks better now.

Copied from a few pages back.

To be done:
- It would be nice to be able to return to the place where you were in the left menu in an easier way. But how??? --> SOLUTION: If there aren't so many screens anymore, it may be possible to display everything instead of hiding things. Fallback: If it does not fit hiding should be enabled. On bigger screens there will be no hiding at all. This will really help usability -> top priority
- Fix text cut off
- Make spaces smaller -> 5 to 3 pix
- Fix pull-down menu's (too wide)
- Fix 'mu' character
- Bypass button layout
- Fix crash for too small window size (remove button bar in that case?)
- Slider all text at same height. Or should I put the text above the slider?
- Oversample wave displays (4x)

- Up/down lock in MB does not work
- Make new minimized icon
- Improved some things in the bottom size display resizing
- Solved and improved some smaller issues that were a problem in both versions.
- About, register, help What would be a logical place to put the registration stuff? I would think at the top of the Configuration menu...
- Display last loaded preset name, if possible also with whether it has been changed and keeping it on restart (although I've spoken to people who use hardware devices which have exactly the same behavior as the old ST had, dropping the name on a restart).
- Tilt settings value is incorrect
- Tilt waveform displays missing
- Try to combine more panels into one

Less urgent for usability:
- Design (several people are working on something)
- Add basic/advanced modes
- Add '-6' '-12' etc. beside output bars where possible.
- Context sensitive Help (help button should be next to the preset buttons)

Ongoing:
- Usability
- Display more things on screen on bigger monitors

Damn, i haven`t a GUI ..
(...)
Hans , do you know what graphic resources or third party resources is using ST ( like Net Framework or something ) ?
None actually (just MFC 7.1, which is included in the Stereo Tool binary). If you don't see a GUI something must be causing an exception. I hope the next version will work again.
I understand but is it possible to work and unfortunately to stop working ...even old versions ( i man old version of 6.33 betas with the new interface , beta 18, 17, 16.... )

Hans ,
Beta20 started and after three seconds it crashed .
that screen ... Send , Don`t send report.
After that it starts and freeze . Works but freezed interface and i cannot push buttons or click menus.
:(

Beta 20 is indeed badly broken. Pre and post amp don't work, AGC doesn't seem to be working, and who knows what else isn't working. I noticed it when my preset sounded significantly quieter than before. Beta 19 works, so it's a Beta 20 issue.

Strange, it works flawless here (both in XP and Windows 7). Will check with debugger - there's probably an exception somewhere that may or may not cause problems depending on various things (I just hate those...)

Just for info :
Reinstalled the SP2 for XP ... still not fixed.
beta20 opens the GUI , but crashes ?!

Betas bellow 20 just looks like empty light brown window but they used to work good :(

6.32 is working like a charm .!? I`m just in a perplexity.
