Top: Version 6.30. Bottom: BETA004 with same settings. Track: DBN - Jack is Back; only Loudness used.

The reason why it's not flat but bumpy is that the input signal isn't a perfect sinusoid.

The max harmonic slider stops responding to mouse wheeling at 327. You can manually move the slider past that, and then you can't mouse wheel in either direction. Arrow keys still work...

Also, my math is a bit rusty, but you stated "2nd bass freq / 2nd bass freq + 100 Hz".

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Going on strict order of operations, the value for that is always 101 Hz.

However, if you actually meant:

2nd bass freq / (2nd bass freq + 100 Hz)...

...then that is always a fractional value, which would not make sense...

I'm assuming that the 1st bass frequency is supposed to be involved?

@Brian: / is not intended as a divider here - it just means it starts at a and then drops to 0 at b.

[2nd bass frequency , 2nd bass frequency + 100 Hz]

Closed interval...

Also, what is the "2nd bass frequency"? Is it the "then drop to no clipping" value above in loudness, or is it referencing the harmonics slider, or is it referencing something else entirely?

Edit: I think I understand your meaning now...

The "2nd bass frequency". When I read that, I see "second, which comes after the first". What I think you actually mean is "the bass frequency that is the underlying value of the second slider in this new functionality".

I'm mentioning this kind of thing because of my background as a developer that had to be consistently conscious of how an end-user viewed the system and/or the documentation. Technical Writing...

Beste Hans

This IMHO is a good version, I truly like it. Works fantastic in win7 64-bit.

Here is my question.

Since I use ST using SAMDJ and not SAMBC, is it necessary to have the clipper? I use the SAMDJ(64-bit) as my primary medium to play music.
what is the true advantage, if any, using it when not used for broadcasting?

Two small changes:
- Better bass filtering, this should give a (slightly) better bass quality - based on a problem reported by Bojcha. (*)
- I've added an 'Alternative method' checkbox in Loudness, I still have to test if this sounds better or not but in the (limited) test that I ran the bass sounded warmer and deeper (less metallic, but I also hear some different type of distortion), and I see that the highs are about 0.5 dB louder.

Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 31-005.exe
DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 31-005.exe
VST: Didn't have time to build it yet - will build one tonight after fixing another issue.

(*) If there was a bass sound that started with a kick with more (higher) frequencies, those higher frequencies could in some cases spread in time. In the new version, this is not completely fixed, but it's clearly reduced.
