Hi NRG,

The best solution for now would be to write something (for example a script) that writes the text to a file on disk at the specified times, and then include this file in the RDS string. See http://help.stereotool.com/rds_encoder_texts.shtml for a description of how to include a file.

Soon I want to implement a new parameter structure, this will - among others - add HTML access to the parameters. But for now the only solution is including a file.

After talking to Bojcha about a possible cause (and solution) for voice vibrations a few days ago, I just suddenly realized that it might be possible to get the same audio quality I have now at half the latency. Not 100% sure, but I'll try it soon. (It will double the CPU load though).

Will this be for whole processing chain or only a specific part of it?
If i can use 4096 quality setting with the latency of 2048 that would be very nice.

Good job Hans... latest Beta better than before. I think it use a little more cpu than beta 022, at about +3%.

Bojcha is primarily FM-centric. Please do not institute a change of doubling the CPU load for those of us who are not in need of the enhancements FM users seek.

Thank you.

If it is switchable on or off, then there is not a problem. It's just this "hole-punching" thing is fresh in my mind. Without people mentioning that the issue only happened if pre-emphasis was involved, it would have been something that impacted everyone, because the "fix" was made for everyone at first, including those of us who didn't need it, where it actually made things marginally worse, not better.

There is indirect connection with pre-emphasis, meaning it's not because pre-emphasis but because higher 'highs' amount on loudness input.
So, it will also happen if you have non-FM preset which is bit louder and with bit more highs.

Anyway, it can be turned off.

The thing is that pre-emphasis boosts up to 15 db of highs .
When the basic signal is very compress at 0 db this 15 db are very loud for the basic signal and the other sound has to be lowered to handle the 100% modulation without distortion . There are many conditions to handle but it looks like Hans is handle them OK for now.But i still say that the basic signal must be processed separately and then apply the pre-emphasis . Now Hans uses the 0 db as absolute reference/max level... and the overall signal ( with or without emphasis) cannot go over 0 db.This rule absolutely works when "hard limit" is enabled.
