CPU, not so much. Did not notice any difference at all unchecking the options.
Strange. I just did a test of version 6.21 vs. the latest BETA, and with these options all turned off the difference is less than 1% on my system. If I turn them on though, the difference is about 9%. This is measured with the FM Extreme Europe preset.

I've also done a measurement with your own webradio preset (built-in), and there's no difference there either (I don't even have to change the settings, defaults already turn the protection off if there's no pre-emphasis).

Can you tell me what you are testing exactly, or try again to make sure? The *very* small difference (~ 1%) indicates to me that the program isn't doing anything different (and that's also what I expect based on the code).

In other Presets like Web Radio Loud with new Protection (without pre emphasis and HQ) these holes are some times really big.
Are you saying that in some cases the new protection makes the holes *bigger*?!

No not bigger but it seams that nothing happens.

In older Versions there weren't (as i remember right) so holes in the left channel. the only thing i changed between the version is that i activated your new BS 412 Filter in the Loudness Section and the two lower check boxes for the new protection.

Did i something wrong with the settings?

Edit: Link removed because new beta has a better sound!

I'm sorry. I was sniffing glue earlier I guess. I thought I saw percentages around 75, but now in the 40-50 range. Maybe something else I had running interfered, or I need to get the non-toxic glue next time.

I'll keep an eye on it.

So, next time instead of blaming Task Manager I should ask you if you didn't sniff glue?

Anyway, if it goes up again please let me know. Bojcha also saw same weird things especially when processing silence (which oddly was resolved by changing some Virtual Audio Cable settings).

I think I had Firefox Beta 11 open with some non-audio Flash content running at the time. I don't feel enthused about checking into it now, but I will soon.

vac1 input (winamp for example)
vac2 MPX out (...to mpxtool)

Don't ask me why 192kHz for input and why 32bit fixed. I just don't know. Like that it works.

No not bigger but it seams that nothing happens. Here i uploaded a part of 3 secounds. The First Part is without the new protection, the other Part with the new protection.
sample.ogg
There IS difference! Loud "S" sound makes hole (volume drop) in first sample more then in second!
