I have reduced the CPU load a bit, but it will stay a bit higher than it was in 6.21 because need to use some extra filters. I could make it configurable though (I run 2 steps of a new protection filter, if I run it once it's probably also acceptable).

Anyway, I'll upload an improved version tonight.

New version. Sound should be roughly the same, but the CPU load increment should be less big. Performance improvements are in Loudness (filter was executed 8 times on upsampled audio, now 3 times on upsampled and 3 times on normal audio), and BS412 (calculation was done 100 times, now 30 times).

Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 22-018.exe
DSP (Winamp): http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 22-018.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 22-018.dll

Performance still in the tank. Was not using upsampling. Memory usage still 2 - 2.5x the usage of 6.21. Can you just not load the BS-412 stuff at all unless the option is enabled?

Back to not being able to do anything else beyond playing Minesweeper while playing music, else the entire system becomes sluggish.

Tested more...

Beta 015 is still OK as far as CPU load. Beta 016, 017, and 018 double the load. Please do not make me go through the "Are you sure it's not just Task Manager" thing for the 10th+ time.

Are we absolutely sure that this "punching holes" impacts non-upsampled and/or non-preemph and/or non-FM users? I'm hard-pressed to HEAR a difference, and even then it might be placebo-induced (expecting a difference because someone says that there should be a difference).

Here is this song . It`s difficult song to handle i think but take the settings and play the song .
In other words, an electronica version of "Running" by Information Society...

Not sure I understand what you're trying to say though. Have you tried my HypersonicV7 stuff with the AGC settings that differ from most everyone else's settings?

Brian it`s not possible not to understand . It`s clear - Download the settings(attachment) and play these two songs after the minute i mentioned there. And If everything is alright You must hear the bass suppression when all the level band1 and band 2 just fall down together and bass goes down to unwanted levels because there is limit "not to go above band 2" .In other words - higher level of "middles" causes bass to go down .This condition cannot be balanced by AGC correctly , witch i think is wrong.

Edit: Brian I saw what you mean but You turn off the AGC .. Why?
I always talk about FM broadcasting . FM broadcasting without AGC is unthinkable .Turning it off is not the solution or must not be the solution.

The top post talking about removing the AGC was when I was first starting work on it.

Use V7_RC1. That has a 3-band AGC.

Yeah saw that too . Still noticeable .Between I know that solution MB to handle this but no.... AGC must balance this and MB to handle the rest ....let`s say ultra loud spikes and stuff like this ..
But I don`t know why Hans locked the bands . Or i missed that one.
