Problem is your soundcard! Actually more then 2x problem is TWO of that soundcards you are connecting, because all soundcards have TILT on input even Marian Trace Alpha!
You do not do what we say to you. You must set Tilt. I admint that this is bit tricky in StereoTool but try Breakaway.
If you still don't know how to try that, ask! It's simple.

You will have a MPX Link, that's another Tilt problem and it's needed to adjust that again.

@ Chris
What gap ?
Ok but why can adjust tilt in FM calibration transmitter ?
With Pira75? How can i do that, do you have a procedure (process? Documentation?) for this ?
Which measurement for all sliders ?

Thanks

@BOJCHA Utilization gaps... 50-60% Cpu. in case you ask me, i have an AMD 2 cpu @ 3.00 Ghz.
ah that...
Cpu load is lower in last few betas.. we'll see after final optimization.

First you recorded that track by connecting one soundcard to other. Now you ask how to adjust tilt with pira.
For every conection there is separate adjustement.

I will explain you how to do that with 2 connected soundcards.
- Download MPX Tool
- Load your preset to soundcard 1 and play to soundcard 2
- On soundcard 2 install MPX Tool and listen what comes from soundcard1
- In stereo tool turn off all except FM, pre/post amp to 0
- Play 50 or 60Hz square tone to StereoToo - Lines must be flat on scope
- if not, go to calibration and adjust all sliders "Phase Differences" with same amount to make line to be flat.
- Remember/save positions and load again your preset with that calibration

For connecting to exciter/transmitter is slightly different procedure...
Read this! http://www.claessonedwards.com/index.ph ... &Itemid=84
Explained 3 ways how you can adjust all.
I would choose this, in case you don't have osciloscope: http://www.claessonedwards.com/index.ph ... &Itemid=86

i already explained it to you. Just try it. Maybe it's time to go ontopic.

I just compared the performance with vs without 'Advanced Bass Distortion Protection'. I didn't expect that much of a difference, but the difference is huge (almost a factor 2). Which means that the protection is taking far more processing power than I had expected. I'll look through the code to see if I can find out why.

Solution for now: Lower the 'Strictness' slider a bit.

Required processing power for the protections turns out to be almost as high as for the clipping itself. Most of that is caused by the S protections. I'm looking into it - that's actually the code that I had optimized in BETA104, but apparently not yet enough.

Yes it is a lot of CPU.
I have to keep Hard Limiter and Oversampling off to use at 100% quality. Even with clipping shortcuts enabled.
Just do what you can. If it's not possible to decrease processing power enough, that's ok. At some point, the CPU load has to increase to improve the quality of ST.
I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ which is kind of outdated so it's understandable.
Thanks for working so hard to optimize it Hans.

@Hans,

You mentioned you were going to reduce highs clipping from 200% to 100% right? Because highs are bad...Bass and mids are great but highs are a problem. I don't know if it's a matter of preset but with any preset I try there is a nasty sound with highs.

I will post examples if you want.

Try to adjust last 3 bands in multiband. Lower 'soft limit', faster 'down speed' .. etc

Hm, I haven't noticed that yet. Examples would be very interesting, but I'm currently trying to rewrite the highs clipping code so you might want to wait for the next BETA first.
