This is a preset for non-broadcast. It sounds very similar to what Bochja just posted (B-Town), but with slightly less mids. Might be a touch too strong on highs. If it is too much, let me know...

Again, not for FM...

Edit: Up to Rev 2. Since it was only downloaded 1 time (Bochja?), I just replaced. Changes from initial version are:

Increased Preamp from 6 to 10
Increased AGC output from -9 to -6
Increased Bass Boost
Across the board multiband tweaks for mostly flat median display
Changes to up and down speeds for the last two bands (highs)
Singleband AGC moved up to -6
Addition of Dirty Bass (25%)
Limit Bass (loudness option) increased from 90% to 100%
Strict Clip lowered from 350 to 300.

Feedback welcome

Update to Rev 4

FAQ:

What happened to Rev 3?

- It was kind of odd...

Changes:

AGC Upspeed and remove remaining peaks increased
Multiband frequency bands, soft limits, up/down speeds, and clipping values changed.
Slightly more bass boost
Phase rotation enabled (heck if I can tell what it does due to no analyzer, but it seems trendy) 8-)
Highs burst strength increased
Little bit more deep bass boost
Punch to +100%
Vibrating voice sensitivity up to full (10).

Try and see...

In my opinion, the highs are too strong. I think my ears were used to some higher highs yesterday and now that I've taken some time away, they seem a bit too bright. Going to work on it some today...

Edit: Meh... Dunno... I just put my x-fi's EQ to flat and they're not as bright. It's time for mind-over-mattress (sleep). Maybe my ears will like it more later...

Just an update for ST v. 6.20...

Primary changes were for the de-essing in version 6.20, but I've also increased the bass and used a "helper" MB band for the low-end, with other changes in the Loudness section.

The preset is loud, but seems clean.

Also, I do not have the CPU power to use the new de-clipper, so that is not enabled, nor is the dynamics booster.

If anyone has any feedback, positive or negative, let me know...

Edit: The file has been changed, so the 1 download so far just needs to redownload if they wish. What I changed was a 1 point increase in upspeed on the high bands in multiband to give it just slightly more vibrance.

Lingering questions I have are:

Are the highs actually too bright? Per what Bojcha is saying about other processors, they shouldn't be, but I dunno...

Is the clipping on the first band too much? I'm trying to get some sort of sustain around 30-40Hz, but don't know if I'm clipping too much (or not enough)...

I forgot to say that I love rev4 with 6.10. Love it to bits.

I will give the 6.20 version a test with v6.20b28

Thanks for sharing - this is my fav setup.

It loads the preset, or else it gets the hose again...

Errr... Sorry, was feeling rather Bufalloed...

Just another update. I'm trying to reduce some bass distortion.

- Minor AGC changes
- Changed to 30 and 70Hz for the first 2 bands instead of 20 and 60.
- MB Clipping changes (seems to affirm what Hans talked about elsewhere about some remaining issues in the loudness filter)
- Now giving maximum bass boost up to 100Hz and max peak of 150%.

That last part seems counter to reducing distortion, but it sounds slightly better now...

I'm still on 6.10
once 6.20 goes stable I'll start using it - it chews too much CPU at the moment.

Cheers! Still lovin' rev4

Based on discussion with michi95, I've modified this preset to include equalization before Multiband. I've also tried to keep the median display relatively flat. This is a "rev 1" of this, so I may make other modifications based on feedback or further listening.

There have been some other changes - too many to remember. The core sound remains the same, except now with the EQ in, the upper vocal range and guitars / cymbals / snares / hi hats are crisper.

Again, this preset is not for FM broadcasting.

Try some tracks like "Titiyo - Come Along With Me".
Play it right from the start !
 Instability (after the intro the loudness drops too much - though the relation should be the other way round based on the original)

Or "Arthur Brown - Fire" or "Lalo Schifrin – The Man From Thrush" or .... or ....
 Constant instability (up and down)

Try Addiction v11.
Not much better.

And then try it with my latest Interstellar Overdrive (v.2.1) preset.

 compare noise gate (multiband expander) settings !

Thanks for the feedback. Development of this preset has ceased due to not having the time / energy to spend on it. Feel free to modify it and use it if you like it.
