Ok, no time anymore right now to update all the pages on the site, but I've just uploaded a bug fix version 3.51.

Changes:
- Cleaner MPX signal for FM transmitters. RDS still causes some mess in the spectrum, I'll fix that ASAP, but this version is already a lot better.
- I've made a change in the stereo widener. I think this version is better, but feedback is welcome. Increasing the phasing causes far less artifacts now (also for low quality MP3 files!), but the resulting phase difference is also a bit smaller. So it sounds less "wide". (You can increase the slider a bit more though because there are far less artifacts).

I expect to release a version 3.52 tomorrow or this weekend to fix the RDS problem.

heh ..
today i give a chance for ST 3.50 finall on our Main Transmitter.
Must say that this is much better then our Stereo Coder sound which is a "pro" unit.
Mpx is great and stable. but maybe it is because i found in manual for our stereo coder don't have mpx clipper. :D :o

i notice that Pre-limiter in 3.50 have "something" for reducing high frequencies vs 20090328 ver. i feel it's not so good.

i am tired now .. i was on mountain walk 2km. up/down :)
i'll test new ver tomorow

Hans good job.

I've just compared the code of version 20090328 vs the 3.50 release, and the only difference in handling high frequencies is that in v3.50 the filtering frequency is more accurate (in 20090328, if the lowpass filter was set to 15 kHz, it was actually filtering at 14.7 kHz, now it starts much closer to 15). This does mean that there's slightly more high frequency content... The difference in output sound is very small. Can you try reducing the volume of the highest band a bit?

Link for 3.52 (!) is just the normal link - it's not a beta. It's only a small change, and without doubt an improvement, so I have released it immediately.

I'll update the site to mention the new version number tomorrow - it's past 6 AM here so I'm finishing up for today.

ok i trie 3.51 .. and first main difference i see. is that now minimal transmitter calibration needed.
just 38kHz on 1.03, 33kHz on 1.04 to get almost ~100% channel separation.

about RDS Compared with our RDS hardware unit.

Finaly much les "lag" on my old pioneer cassete reciver. works good.
i tried ~10 rds recivers and all works good.
but in may friends new Audi A6 there is no RDS at all
Maybe is something in calibration but i don't know how to calibrate it.

oh.. let's get on 3.52 ..
m8 u'r too fast...

good job as usualy.

Oops! I have introduced a bug in the RDS processing, which may cause it to fail on some (especially German!) radios! Will create a fix asap!

Ow, you had this problem with 3.50?! I introduced the bug in 3.52...... So I don't know what's wrong in 3.50...

So if I understand you correctly: Other RDS encoders DO work, but Stereo Tool 3.50's RDS encoder does not?

On the Audi, have you tried changing the channel after turning the RDS encoder on? I noticed that in my own car, if I tune the channel with RDS turned off and I turn RDS on later, it doesn't always pick it up - if I switch to another channel and back it does.

[The bug introduced in 3.52 will be fixed in 3.53, which will be available in about 30 minutes].

Bojcha make sure you don't change the PS name less then atleast 5 seconds.
I know some radios have issues with that.

Hans I've checked the rest of the filtering etc and that seems to be great.
Things seem to be progressing quickly and in a very good way.

Maybe some other thing that can be implemented.
An expander with adjustable settings instead, or together with the 'remove noise' function.
