Heya Just gave my boss a demo of stereo tool, basically told me to make it happen Will be registering tomorrow in future I would like to look into a sound card that can support 192k and also pass the audio through from line in to speaker when the computer reboots Any suggestions, we dont have a budget for m audio :/ We will be replacing some equipment that came off the ark, but it has performed well Obran optimod tv (8100 i think) Will keep you up to date how the testing goes tomorrow |

WOW thats all i can say We have been on stereo tool for a day now, and the compliments keep on flying in! I am currently feeding our aac streaming off the same feed as the transmitter, can i put a second sound card and enable the aac friendly feed on that output? PS i have just bought a license - I bought a full FM license even though i am not using those features (yet) its worth it guys lets keep this project going by supporting it |

Great! By the way, you mention that you are not yet using the FM options yet, but if you have a transmitter I would assume that you are using FM pre-emphasis? About the 2nd (AAC) stream: What does your current setup loop like? Are you using the stand alone Stereo Tool version or a plugin version? Here's how to do it with Winamp - you don't need a 2nd sound card: - Get the LineIn plugin for Winamp ( http://home.hccnet.nl/th.v.d.gronde/dev ... index.html ). - Select Stereo Tool as DSP plugin - In Stereo Tool, in the FM settings window select "Normal Output" in "Send to Winamp". Enable "Direct Sound Card Access". - Then just load an AAC encoder for Winamp. Disable any sound card output in Winamp. This way you get: - FM output to the sound card via Direct Sound Card Access. - Processed de-emphasized output to the AAC encoder. I will send you the key tonight (I'm not at home right now). |

I am running ST standalone on a dedicated pc, the streaming encoder is on another pc, should i run a seperate copy on the winamp encoder? My STL link is currently doing the pre emph and stereo encoding with a external RDS injected on the sub carrier i then feed my transmitter a mpx signal at the site with the actual transmitter set to mono as to not filter out the sub carriers (has its own stereo encoder) |

What do you mean by "should i run a seperate copy on the winamp encoder"?You could run both (streaming and broadcasting) on one pc. Assuming that it can handle the load. Quote:

Actually, this shouldn't work... The RDS signal must be matched EXACTLY to the 19 kHz carrier tone of the stereo signal. If you mix a separate RDS signal, that will probably have 2 effects:sub carrier 1. It disturbs the 19 kHz pilot that is generated by Stereo Tool. This can disturb the stereo sound. 2. The link between the RDS signal and pilot does not match the specification, which can cause bad or no RDS reception. If possible, you should use the Stereo Tool RDS signal. If that is not possible, but you ARE using the Stereo Tool stereo coder, then your best bet is (if possible) to turn off/disable/remove the pilot tone of the RDS signal. So at the very least it won't disrupt the stereo signal. RDS reception cannot be guarranteed in this case. Alternatively, if the RDS encoder can "follow" the pilot tone generated by Stereo Tool, that would also be an option (in that case, the Stereo Tool signal would have to be connected as input for the RDS encoder). |

My RDS doesnt generate its own pilot, it takes a sample from the STL link and then injects the RDS based on the STL's pilot tone |
