A while back I built a very simple bug type FM transmitter based around two BC547 transistors and modified it for a line level input from a device such as a computer. Without the software the transmitter was of course mono and produced dull sound but when I used it with the Stereo Tool Winamp plug in I got HIFI stereo sound and RDS data. Its amazing to think that a cheap FM transmitter kit costing less than $20 US could produce excellent quality sound.
