I remember that i tryed Asio4ALL with realtek chip and i can say that asio works.
Maybe cannot work with 2 or 4ms latency but with 8 or 10ms i think can.

You can always check that soundcard by instaling Windows Vista (or Win7) .. and to try set 192kHz in Windows control panel.

okay, i've got here an release pack of windows 7 should that do the trick? But won't my system going slower whit windows 7? Vista is a bad idea i think takes al lot of system memory and cpu.

This weekend i'll try to instal windows 7, but i'd like to have my pc with xp, so no solution using xp then? I hope there's an sample rate program or something like that...

Actually there is setup for sample rate in XP .. but it's not working!

"Audio" tab -> "Sound Playback" -> "Advanced" -> "Performance" -> "Audio Playback" ->
"Sample rate conversion" -> 'best'

For Vista and Win7 works!

And better idea is optimized Win7 then Vista

Honda i just have one idea for you!

On My pc there is SoundMAX Chip onboard .. and i had same problem as you ..
after days and days i make it.. In WindowsXP i instaled drivers from Vista (only drivers, just thru device manager)

so you can try that !

Hi Honda ..
I just reinstaled windows on friends pc .. and i noticed SoundChip ALC888
I saw same problem with setting card to work on 192kHz.

i take time to try other things to get it to work in 192kHz...

in short ..
Download and try this drivers! Works on this PC !!
http://download1.msi.com/files/download ... all_mb.zip

i've tried that driver, but no 192 khz option or something in de realtek sound manager seen. I've also tried the vista/win7 driver, but no succes too :(
I've installed my release candidate of windows 7, it takes more memory as xp does, but the cpu usage is quite the same as in xp. I've installed the win7 driver and i could choose the output sample rate :)
But there is an problem my windows7 release candidate is just useable for 30 days. Then i have to buy a code to activate windows. I don't want to buy a windows 7 code for 119 euro's (upgrade edition; if i hadn't a value xp i should pay 199 euro's for windows 7 :o ) So i don't want to do this because for about 100 euro's i could get better a nice esi maya, which should work also whit stereotool's rds and stereo (isn't?) and does works with xp (correct me if i'm wrong)
So i just like to use my realtek with xp ;)

so i hope you or somebody else has an windows xp solution. For now i work whit windows 7 but that just for 30 days from now on.... :o

Note: could you tell me what you did exactly whit your friends windows xp computer to get an 192 khz output?

thanks in advance!

Is your XP updated to the latest service pack? Early XP versions (I think up to service pack 2) did NOT support 192 kHz audio!
