Post subject:  ESI U24XL Setup Help

Hello.

I have a U24XL from ESI that I want to use with Stereo Tool.

I want to use the ASIO for processing and output to onboard soundcard to hear audio through speakers. I have not been able to set up ST and DirectWIRE properly to make this work.

For those who don't know, the U24XL is an external USB audio interface. It has input/outputs that I could use but I'd like to avoid purchasing more cables if possible.

Any help would be great.

Thank you.

First question, what is Input?

Input is computer audio (audio being played from PC). No cables are being used other than the USB cable to connect the U24XL to the PC.

Installed sound cards are:
- ESI U24XL
- Virtual Audio Cable
- Realtek HD Audio (onboard audio that speakers are connected to)

Do you see input signal in ST?

Since you want that USB card to play to your Internal soudncard you need to connect them by cable. Output form USB card to Input of your internal soundcard.
Maybe it's possible to use Repeater (Since you have VAC).. so USB output to your internal soundcard input.
Also i would directly use that usb card to my amp/speakers.
