Do you have any idea if this is a driver problem or a Stereo Tool problem?

The ESI drivers are often pretty horrible - I still haven't managed to get them working properly on Vista64. Well, they work... But very often the driver chooses the wrong sound card frequency. And so far the only solution I've found for that is rebooting.

Or is it a Stereo Tool problem? If you play silence, do you see the sliders move? And the noise that you hear, is that a hiss, or maybe the RDS signal that is somehow downsampled in a very bad way? If you turn RDS and stereo coding off, is the noise gone then? If so, are the sample rates that the ESI control program reports correct?
