Post subject:  Stereo Tool and MagicRDS

Hi
Since Stereo Tool now suports UECP Protocol I tought that I could use MagicRDS:http://www.pira.cz/rds/show.asp?art=rds ... r_software for sending RDS over to Stereo Tool for encode but when I input port 4001 into MagicRDS and I enable UECP in Stereo Tool Magic RDS shows that it is connected and in Stereo Tool shows that UECP is Connected but when I want to send some PS data from MagicRDS to Stereo Tool I get Communication Error in MagicRDS

I don't know what is wrong here (I like MagicRDS because it is free)

Is there any free RDS Control software like MagicRDS uvalable?

Thanks for Anwsering and Best Regards

Strange. UECP does not have a reply mechanism so I don't know how that program could even detect an error. And it has been tested with at least 2 other programs with which it works fine.

Magic RDS supports the Pira RDS encoder. That one uses an own protocol, not UECP, so this will not work. Or something has changed?

I use TCP COM Bridge to connect a virtual comport (there is no real comport in that computer) to TCP-IP. Stereo Tool on another computer gets that directly. RDS software I use is RDS-Studio. It's not for free, but there is a demo version around. You can download and test TCP COM Bridge 15 days.

Hans which programs did you use to test UECP?

PS: Do you think you could inplement PIRA32 Protocol so we could use MagicRDS as control software (some details are here: http://www.pira.cz/rds/show.asp?art=pira32_development
and here is the manual: http://www.pira.cz/rds/manual.pdf
Here is TCP part of MagicRDS which I tried to use with UECP: http://www.pira.cz/rds/show.asp?art=pir ... via_tcp_ip
