Stereo Tool (winamp plugin) works fine with ffdshow using 32-bit integers but not with floating point precision (noise only). Does ST support fp at all? If so, how can I force ST to always expect fp input by some setting or flag, etc?

Hm, good one (sorry for not responding to your email earlier). When I receive audio I cannot see if it's float or in based.. I just get the info '32 bits' and that's all. So I would say this is a problem in the Winamp DSP interface specification... And one I don't know how to fix.

In audio quality you really shouldn't be able to hear any difference between the two - is this really a problem?

Thought so. This isn't a quality issue but a compatibility one. I need to do several conversions because of that.
If this is a general problem with winamp plugins I am wondering why no one came up with the idea to just add a compatibilty button to the plugin to allow the user to signal floating point input manually. Probing the audio data isn't possible?
So no one is using ST winamp version with floats until now?
And I'm not sure if this really is a problem. Just being nosy.
