Hello everybody,

For nearly one year now I'm using ST to process audio for SSB transmissions.
It's fantastic MB compression, equalizing, clipping and limiting tools are awesome for our hobby.
They maximize average talk power, improve intelligibility, punch and audio quality.
Here are my profiles on date December 31, 2014, the type is in the filename.

I also have a 5 k profile for ESSB-like playing.

Keep in mind that these profiles include my hardware setups, so do only load audio profile when testing.
Feel free to apply, comment and share your own discoveries.
Many thanks to Hans for this outstanding software.

Happy New Year to Everybody

Thanks Peter! I'll be experimenting with your presets and perhaps there are other ham radio operators that will join our online discussion.

I just installed stereo tools for use with my Anan 200D. I am running my mic into an Asus X7 sound card and the output from the card into the mic jack of the radio. Monitoring the audio from the sound card I get a low level echo. Is this normal?

Welcome Frank! ANAN-100D here. The echo seems to vary based on the particular sound card in use. You might try using a VAC connection from Stereo Tool to PowerSDR. VB-Audio has a few nice free ones for download.

I'm still experimenting with ASIO audio interfaces and will post my results with the PreSonus AudioBox 22VSL which I just hooked up. I always had an echo with my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 unless I used a VAC

If you hear an echo, are you sure that you're not passing the input to the output in the sound card settings? Because then you would hear both Stereo Tool's output and the original input.

Alternatively, it could be that your microphone is picking up the sound from - for example - your headphone if you play processed audio through that.

Nothing inside Stereo Tool can cause echo's, so if you hear any there's some other signal present that shouldn't be there.

Hello Frank and Hans,

Echo sounds like RF to me.

Were you making power when the echoes occured ?

FWIW, I wouldn't feed the soundcard output to the front mic in, but on the rear connector line in level.

I discovered it was crosstalk in the sound card. I'm waiting for a Behringer umc202 USB interface and I'm going to use VAC with stereotool and give that a go.
Thanks guys
