Say your sound card has 6 output channels. Then this is how you choose what you send to which channel, for example channel 1+2 = FM output, 3+4 = normal output, etc.

Some sound card treat channels differently. For example, if you have an ESI Juli@ sound card, channels 1+2 are analog 192 kHz channels, and 3+4 are digital 96 kHz channels. In that case you HAVE to use 1 and/or 2 for FM output, because otherwise part of the stereo and the RDS info is lost. For details like this, check your sound card documentation (usually all channels are the same though).
