Hello
I just made the decision a few days ago, that I must yet again try enabling the modern AGC. I have had it running in legacy-mode since forever. It's slow to react, but gets everything at a good level. When I switched to the modern (not legacy) mode, the LUFS shot up way too hard. I couldn't adjust i with the drive without it stopping to do any difference to the sound. Same problem as always.
Then, in a moment of serendipity, I got it. The sound gets smashed, because the signal is too hot out from the AGC. So I set the Drive to a good level, so the "needle" deflected around 12 dB. Then I lowered the Threshold to -11.4. Suddenly the system started working as it should. I use one band, as I don't wanted it to become unpredicatable.
The "modern" AGC seems a bit "skittish" as opposed to the slow legacy. But I guess I can adjust this in the submenues. For now, I'm happy.
