Post subject:  Getting the sub bass to stand out

I want to create a big amount of sub bass roughly 80 Hz and under. I tried messing with the advanced bass protection section and I got more bass but it was so distorted.

Do you have any suggestions on how to increase the sub- bass dramatically? I'm already boosting the bass 10 db but the abp just gets rid of a lot of sub bass.

I can get plenty of mid-bass but even if I have to sacrifice mid bass and highs for a big amount of sub bass I don't mind.

Thank you I appreciate it.

I've seen you ask for bass before, and bass was delivered in the form of presets that change the shape of the waveform in the signal.
However, are you certain your speakers and amplifier can recreate the bass you're looking for?

I like a lot of bass, and I don't have a subwoofer. Outside of reference headphones, I have some floor speakers (not monitors - yet) and I have a haptic augmentation that resonates vibrations through my chair (device branded as ButtKicker) for deep sub bass, and even subsonic frequencies.
Perhaps you might look into additional solutions to work alongside Stereo Tool (like another subwoofer)? ;)

Well, the stations near me produce a large amount of sub bass and I've measured it before (from my ears). I tried even turning down high frequencies and mid frequencies and still stereo tool can't get that powerful sub bass. It can get plenty of mid bass if pushed enough. I even bought a new transmitter for my station accepting mpx input.

You also need to check are they upto 75kHz.

Record their audio, post here :)

what receiver did you use to record this ?
generally, when i am sampling something from the FM broadcast band, i'll use my SDR and save the selected bandwidth of the I/Q RF signal domain to a file.
this is akin to playback of the RF signal domain in the selected SDR software.
in the recording, 40Hz and below is at a "normal" level compared to 60Hz to 80Hz, which appears to be heavily emphasized.
however, it is difficult to ascertain whether the receiver that was used for this recording, is demodulating the baseband modulated signal in a flat manner as some receivers "alter" the demodulated and de-emphasized baseband audio to emphasize 60Hz for reasons of "impression" to the listener.
if you have an SDR, can you record the selected modulation bandwidth of the I/Q baseband as observed in the spectrum window ?

I used this receiver: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-t ... Id=4888900

I have an sdr but Im not too technical with it. If there's instructions I'll take that into consideration!

Also, I gave breakaway one a shot and to my surprise it runs great without distortions modulating within 75 khz -/+.

Though, I already bought stereo tool and I wouldn't want my money to go to waste :(

Luckily BreakawayOne can run Stereo Tool as a VST plugin. That's how I've been using it for a few years now. Though I'm pretty certain Stereo Tool can do what you need once it's configured properly.
