Hi - my presets sound fantastic over mp3/aac streams. But if I feed the output through Facebook Live it sounds terrible.
Perhaps Facebook are adding compression to audio of live streams and re-encoding?
Has anyone had success with using a preset to make the broadcast of music sound decent via Facebook Live?
I'm thinking less aggressive settings in Stereo Tool might be the way to go...
Best wishes

Facebook -- and, indeed, any streaming provider like YouTube or Twitch -- is going to wrap your stream in their own compression. YouTube live, for example, is typically a low bitrate m4a (AAC).

So if you're sending AAC@128, they will transcode it again to AAC@128.

The only way I can see around this is to send them something lossless (WAV/FLAC).

Not only that, the social media apps also normalize all audio (most).
