I do hope I did not blatantly neglect to notice an obviously more appropriate place for this question...

What exactly is watchcat looking for in "/path/to/lame"?

Is it a .dll? .exe?

I cant get the encoding to work, keep getting the error: "Process could not be started (is the path correct?).". I downloaded the current LAME .tar, but no obvious file candidates stand out.

I'd appreiuate some help, even if it's the kind that'll make me bury my head in shame... :)

I admit the process is a bit confusing. It's still on our to-dolist to add the Windows built-in MP3 encoder.

For now: Lame should be an .exe. However on the Lame website you can only download source code, not a compiled executable. A lame.exe is available from RareWares. This should work. MP3 encoding will get easier in the future. For now you'll have to make do with this bit of inconvenience :)

Oh, I don't mind the inconvenience at all - the information is what I really needed...

Thank you!
