trying to re-install ST 7.60 and i get this!!!
avast internet security 2015
win32:evo-gen[susp] positive

http://malwarefixes.com/threats/win32evo-gen-susp/

i think this could be the reason why ST starts to crackle after about 15 sec
restart the juli@ driver and it works for 15 sec
(yes, latest driver 1.18)

anyone else got this weird false positive or same problem?

cheers marco

Tested with Symantec Endpoint Protection, newest database - no problem at all. It must be false positive. About the crackling - I had the same issue when using ASIO4ALL driver for my realtek. I've never tried native ASIO audio device.

There are a lot of antivirus programs and some can give false positives. If you don't trust it, try analyzing it on https://www.virustotal.com/
