On the Linux version, is there anyway to enable multicore?

No not yet. The current multicore code is OS specific, unfortunately. I saw that there's a new mechanism that works very well and is a lot easier - I'll see if I can convert to that and use it on Linux as well. Otherwise I'll fix it later.
