Hi all,

I am trying to find a manual or discription how to install the downloaded "raspberry pi3-5 standalone jack 64"

The website tells me this: (No installers, save and chmod for execute access) But i cannot find how todo this.

I have done several things with the raspberry pi but always by just following the instructions.

Google and the forum did not help in this case.

Can someone help me with a tip?

Thanks!

My experience in Linux is extremely limited, but I remember being able to launch it by going to the properties of the file and checking a box to make it executable (I can't recall exactly how it was labeled). After this I was able to double-click it to launch the application.

Surely somebody with real Linux experience will be able to help in a Terminal way. However, this should get you started.

edit: a quick Google led to this which should help https://www.pluralsight.com/blog/it-ops ... ermissions

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

I have found the same thing on google.
But the right click will not work with raspbian OS.
So i think it must be done by the terminal.
I hope that someone can tell me how.

kind regards

Arie

You can certainly right-click in Raspbian on the Pi4. But since this doesn't want to work, look in the link I provided for the terminal answer.
Code:
chmod +x filename

I would recommend a Raspberry Pi book as its gives you all the commands and what they mean! Answers on websites can be misleading, A book is also useful to have if like me you have a poor memory or need to dig deeper withins Unix and the command lines.

Right click, then give it access rights. Then after that, double clicking to start it should work.
