I copied the vet file into the vet plugin folder but for some reason stereo tool is not showing up in my vst's.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks

You may have not put the correct version in the correct location. What is the VST host you're using (a DAW or playout software or something)? This dictates which VST version you install and where.

Check this for assistance https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/ar ... m-windows/
or https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-u ... on-Windows

If you already put the correct one in the correct place and it's still not seeing it, perhaps you need to scan for it again. Most software does this on restart if they don't have a manual scan or do it automatically.

Hey,

Thanks for the reply. Im using Caster (https://gingeraudio.com/groundcontrol-caster/) as it allows me to add vst plugins to each channel as we will be operating two streams, one for overnight music and one for live shows.

So caster allows us to transition the two the stream seamlessly.

I use Cubase / Native Instruments for production so I put it in the usual VST folder.

Would that be the correct location for it? Meant to say, im on a MAC.

Thanks...

Oh, right! That's indeed quite relevant. I don't have a Mac to do any tests on, so maybe somebody else with experience in the VST Stereo Tool on Mac can help. Sorry!

According to this page https://gingeraudio.com/docs/how-to-add ... er-tracks/ The software host you're trying to use wants Audio Units, not VST plugins. AFAIK, ST doesn't have an AU implementation.

edit: However there's a solution to use a DAW to route audio to the Caster app. https://gingeraudio.com/docs/stream-audio-between-daw/ You will likely find a DAW that can use Stereo Tool much more easily than finding a way to make VSTs work as AUs (if even possible).

Hi,

Thanks for that but Caster does use VST's, I have two other VST plugins running on it at the moment.

The problem seems to be the location of the stereo tool plugin. I wish they had an actual installer file for it.

Ah, weird. I couldn't find documentation on which type of VST it used, and only found AU info.

Do you know if it's VST2 or VST3? Also which version are you trying to use, 9.92 or the beta for 10?

"Free" VSTs shouldn't need to be installed: they just need to be placed in the right folder. I'm thinking the incorrect plugin type (VST2 instead of VST3 or vice versa) is being used if it's not showing up. Either that or it's broken and the VST loader checks this before showing the list.

If it turns out to be the latter, please try the Beta for 10 in this thread viewtopic.php?f=14&t=33391 and report if it doesn't work correctly there.
