Hello, friends -

I am using an Intel Core i9-10900 CPU 2.80 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, Windows 10 64 bit, exclusively as a streamer for my radio station. I use SPL Encoder with the Stereo Tool 9.50 plugin. Problem - I cannot run Stereo Tool for more than a couple of hours set at 4096 Samples latency, without getting clicking/popping audio. When I change to 2048 Samples, I experience no clicking / popping. Any idea as to what is causing this?

Thank you, and happy holidays!

Ron

Try go to CPU and Latency > CPU Usage, and set 2, 3 or 4 processing cores.
Probably you are running out of cpu power at 1 core. 1 should be enough for that cpu but you always want atleast 2.

It seeems odd that 2048 spends more time in processing than 4096 (?)

Ah ok, and how are buffers when cklicking starts? Do you maybe underrun or overrun input or output?

Thank you for your assistance, Bujcha! How do I check for buffer over / underruns?

Since you use dsp ST, probably somewhere is samplerate missmatch. Check ALL soundcards and virtual soudncards are ALL set to same samplerate in windows, both playback and recording. Also should be same samplerate for SPL and ST.

Bojcha - All soundcards were set to 16 - 44100. Perhaps I was experiencing a buffer underrun? I bumped everything up to 24 - 48000, and will try sampling at 4096. We'll see what happens. Thanks for your advice!

Happy Holidays,

Ron
