Wish, well i have a wish...

How about a completely new GUI.
The only reason i have not yet switched from BBP to stereotool is it's GUI.

The software sounds great, but looks in no way as good as BBP and since i am using it to make dedicated HW boxes for FM-Broadcasting it is still no option to make the switch.

So, my wish.....well no need to say, hope more people feel the same....

Currently, I like the fact that hvz is focused on improving/tweaking ST to optimum quality & performance and continue to go in this direction before throwing a new coat of paint on the software (GUI).

While a new GUI might be nice, I personally feel this product is more valuable for it's listening quality rather than it's looks (which non of the broadcast listeners can see anyway) and would not even want to see hvz change his direction until he was comfortable he reached his audio quality goals with his software first.

Well, actually... Maintaining the current (ugly) gui is such a pain that I haven't started working on a new multiband compressor yet because of the huge GUI changes needed for it. So, I'm planning to implement a new parameter mechanism very soon (as soon as the current Loudness and AGC changes have settled). And with a new parameter mechanism comes a new GUI........ (No longer these Windows sliders and checkboxes, but thing that I draw myself - preferably in 1 window so - indeed - it could be used much easier if you build it into a hardware box).

This wil also increase the ease-of-use: For example, if you disable BS412 in the FM section, the "prepare for BS412" checkbox in the AGC should be disabled etc.

I know 'stereotool' is good value, but if you want to make a professional product out of this (which i am sure it can) you need to give it a better look and some more common names to the buttons and switches.
And if this raises the purchase price, well....I am sure it still will be worth the money.

Hans,

Thumbs up ! I was hoping you were planning a new GUI.
The GUI used in BBP is super, looks clean.

Will make the switch for sure when the GUI looks as fine as the BBP GUI does.... ;)
Lets wait and see if there are more people feeling the same..

In my opinion, you must first finish as you said Hans with issues relating to the sound you are trying and reform of the MB would be very important.
After that one could continue with the modification of the GUI, which I think is a need to "change of air", a new image.
The new look for the GUI, I think you should consider standardizing dB and reference checks all equal to 0 dBFS.
Another point to remember is, all modules have the proper meter level or gain reduction, in order to "see" how the process is acting on the sound.
We all hope for change, but must be given time to mature. ;)
