Here's a feature I really miss in ST. BBP allows two separate instances to share a 192 kHz sound card, allowing one instance to provide an MPX output on the cards left channel output, while a 2nd instance provides an MPX output on the cards right channel output.
You can set the ST GUI to do that (with ASIO only), but it doesn't work - at least not with a ESI Julia card I tested.
This feature allows two separate stations/instances to share one card instead of requiring two cards to do the same job, which saves a lot of money (& PCI slots) doubling up on higher end Marian/Julia cards etc in the pc.
Even if you have just the one FM station, it allows that station to stay on air (Say using the cards left output for MPX), while using a second ST instance driving the cards right output (into tx's/dummy loads etc, or mod monitors). Useful for testing and calibrating new presets/ST beta's etc off-air without interrupting the station on air.
