Dear all,

perhaps someone already heard of SRT. It's a fantastic way for streaming audio and video over public lines. I use it with 2wcom devices to provide rockstable connections even over the public internet.
Would it be possible to use SRT in conjuction with µMPX? This might solve many issues with UDP Streaming and Packet Loss

Best regards,

Christian

To answer that on myself: I've made it work without any modification in Stereotool. The provided SRT Demo can take up UDP Streams and pack them into SRT on the Encoder side, doing at the decoder site the opposite thing. As both endpoints are connected via 4G behind NAT I put a SRT Server on the public internet who does the routing, so it's a bit hacked but still working nicely. SRT does all the lost-package-retransmission stuff. Excited to see it on a long-term test.

I'll bring this up again. An (better) Alternative to SRT seems to be RIST, more and more streaming tools (like OBS) implementing this. There is a library: https://code.videolan.org/rist/librist. Don't know how much effort it would be to put it into Stereo Tool? At the moment I'm working around with the command line tools.
