Yes Storm, problem is exctly that and all you said is true! I know because i already try all of that.
Beside some good tracks/examples .. i actually made two samples where both contains only extreme highs and control (steady) tone at 1kHz. That gives better view on problem.
Anyway we'll see with what Hans will make.

great idea Bojcha, should have thought of that. That also allows direct visual comparison against other processors. Cheers AJ.

Preliminary causal listening of B622-016 shows that the hole punching reduction on that Anne Murray track is improved (perhaps not quite as deep is my first thought, particularly around 26-30s in), but still very noticeably there. I A/B'd using BBP and the ST beta driving MPXTool and set for comparable loudness levels, both with 75us pre/de-emphasis. I personally immediately prefer the clean and musical sound of ST by a margin, but, BBP shows minimal sign of hole punching that track while ST beta still noticeably hole punches. ST overall sounds less stressed, less pushed/maxed (which is great) but then the hole punching comes through. Curious to see what others find with this beta. Cheers AJ

I have already uploaded a new beta (017) that performs a LOT better. There was actually a bug in one of the protection steps that was causing this issue - besides the clipper itself which also caused it. So there were 2 (and actually even 3!) different causes of holes. Which are now all removed or greatly reduced.

Yes, it's actually punching around the vocal, whereas BBP does not. Any ideas on cause and solution? AJ

Edit: Worth noting that Bojcha's ST x_test_orban_v08 is one broadcast preset that does NOT notably hole punch around that vocal.
