Problem:
With same settings the singleband compressor and the post agc compressor give (very) different results (amounts of gain reduction).
How to replicate:
- factory reset, turn singleband compressor on, play test signal (e.g. white noise) and remember the gain reduction shown
- factory reset, set up the post agc compressor exactly as the singleband compressor; make the agc do nothing by setting target level = 0dB, spike handling and agc limiters to highest values, upspeed = downspeed = 0; play the same test signal as before and realize the gain reduction of the post agc compressor is much less than for the singleband compressor in pt. 1
Note that lowering the post agc threshold by
about 8.5dB will give you a similar result as in pt. 1.
So is this shift intended or a bug?
Btw this is the same amount of shift I mentioned
here and I still assume it's a conversion bug, because 20*log10(87100/2^15) = 8.49... (Hans should know where the numbers come from.)
