Hallo,
I use your excellent tool as VST-Plugin in Wavelab.
But since your beta 5 release when I would like to render my audio WaveLab crash with following message:
Due to a bug, it’s currently not possible to load multiple instances of the stereo Tool VST plugin using the same Stereo Tool DLL file.
Workaround:
Make a copy of the Stereo Tool DLL with a different name
Use that copy to create the new instance
But in my case I use only one instance of the Stereo Tool VST plugin.
Regards
Claude

I added this notification because loading 2 instances can cause crashes. Of course it wasn't my intention to have this message getting displayed if you load only one.

I'm downloading a trial version of WaveLab now to see if I can find out why you get this message.

It doesn't seem to happen here (I downloaded WaveLab 5, which version are you using?). I did find another bug though: If one Stereo Tool instance is loaded and an attempt is made to load another, it causes things to crash. I'll have a fix ready for that in a moment - but it won't remove the problem with the popup itself.

Could you please tell me:
- Which version of WaveLab you are using
- What you do exactly (what I did: Just click on the panel for plugin 1, select VST -> vst_stereo_tool.dll).

If I do this again for Plugin 2 I do get this message (as expected).

I don't know if it helps, but at least I have now fixed the issue that Stereo Tool could crash after this message appears. Here it's working flawlessly in WaveLab 5. New version is uploaded, could you try if it works on your end as well now?

I do see that WaveLab loads and starts Stereo Tool during startup, but it gets closed down again after that. So I don't expect that to interfere.

Thank you for your fast answer.

For information: I use WaveLab 6 and windows 7

Exactly what's happen is that I load stereotool in plugin 1. When I do my audio montage everything is ok. I can adjust my parameters in stereotool and listen the processed audio.
But when I have finished and I press the RENDER boutton for processing my whole montage with stereotool to a new file then it crashed.

I will try this evening your update.

I just tried what you described and I'm getting the same popup now.

Will look into this.

Before I added this message, have you ever had strange crashes in WaveLab after rendering? I added this message for a reason - basically when this situation occurs something goes really wrong inside Stereo Tool...

I'm now working on a real solution which will enable loading multiple Stereo Tool instances using 1 DLL. May take some time...

Yes, in all the version before after rendering, stereotool stop responding and I had to shutdown WaveLab.
But this was not a real issue for me because it was after the rendering was finished.

Well, then you know why I added this message that you're getting now... Anyway, after solving it both problems should be gone, and it should also become possible to use multiple Stereo Tool instances simultaneously without having to resort to tricks like renaming DLL files.

This version should fix the problem - and the crash that you saw earlier:
