Hi Hans, can you already say when you probably will release 10.42 officially? Oh and DSP 032 is not working.

No idea. Lots of things are halfway fixed. Why, is there something from the beta's that you need which isn't in 10.41?

Yes, for the preset Chaotic from Bojcha (something with pre-emphasis/relative stop thresh).
I personally don't like to install betas - cause there is always chance that it's bugged (or doesn't work at all like 032 DSP :D )

We made a number of pretty risky changes since 10.41 so I don't really know when we can release. I'll be out of the country the end of this week and all of next week. After that, we should be able to start finalizing things - and hopefully collecting some testing info from people. By the way I know what's wrong with the DSP, ChatGPT has a solution which I'll probably implement tomorrow. Some things in Windows appear to be... poorly designed. This ChatGPT solution might also be useable to fix using streaming from Stereo Tool running as a plugin by the way, if that's indeed the case that might be very helpful.

So is 031A DSP ok to use..as in functional as 032 is intended?

Hans has only mentioned using it for lazy library loading logic. In some programming languages, this is very time-consuming and can take hours. It means having to define functions manually. However, for C++, it's most likely a little easier. Some programs can automatically generate lazy-loading bindings (though its follows a process that can break). ChatGPT is the easist.

Stereotool (mostly) cannot be recreated with AI due to requiring brain logic

This is a very weird, ill-informed post.
We sometimes use ChatGPT to quickly generate code that we would otherwise have to look up, copy and make minor adjustments to.
Any modern software company does that.

In this case, it's the code that says "if this library isn't present on the system, don't use it."
Which has been written a million times before, so ChatGPT knows it pretty well.

Saying "ChatGPT is bad hmmkay?" is saying something like "oh you use Google to solve problems? No you can't do that, you have to think of the solution yourself."
If that is your stance, I'd be happy to remove your account.

I'd like to reiterate that there is no big-tech scary AI nonsense present in StereoTool, all our sound processing is designed and programmed by us (mostly Hans).

Streaming from the Winamp plugin is working now (and I didn't even use the stuff that ChatGPT said - and as usual, it was actually wrong!). RIST is next, once that's done the DSP will work again.
