Stereo Tool

Hello,

We send multiple different bitrate and codec type streams of the same program out to Shoutcast v2 distribution servers.

Will it be possible to stream these directly from Stereo Tool in the near future? There is only one output stream available, unless we've missed a setting somewhere?

Our current solution has multiple streaming encoders built in, however we are looking to change our processing to Stereo Tool and would prefer it all in one solution if possible.

For now, what do people use to send multiple streams? EdCast? AltaCast? There have been issues with EdCast crashing in the past, AltaCast which took over from it has seemed to be more reliable, but is there a known rock-solid high quality streaming add-on?

We seem to be having a problem with AAC streaming on v10.40, the built in encoder fails to connect to Shoutcast v2 in AAC but will work in mp3. We've not tried using libVLC due to its questionable stability and audio quality. The streaming setting options in Stereo Tool are Icecast, Shoutcast v1 or HTTP with libVLC however our servers are v2. Is this something that can be fixed?

Adding multiple streams and ShoutCast v2 support are things on our todo list, but we don't support them right now. So for now you will have to use an external encoder.

AAC works on IceCast and on ShoutCast v1. I don't know why it doesn't work on v2 (I didn't know that it doesn't, until now).

Our station has very similar configuration right now (streaming multiple bitrates). The tech guys and admin would really love to hear the news if it came around some time in the future.
