Post subject:  Another Linux bug? Whitelist isn't working

Hi, running ST 9.91 standalone on Ubuntu 22.04

There are a few issues, another thread here that I started about the Scheduler covers two I've found (text entry and how to make Scheduler work?) and I think I have found another issue. I can't enter text directly into the GUI (see that other thread) but the Web interface works. But I can only access the Web interface on the PC running ST at localhost:8080 . I have Whitelisted another PC on the same LAN but ST isn't letting it connect.

My current Whitelist: 127.0.0.1/32, 192.168.1.106 -- the first is localmachine and it works with http://127.0.0.1:8080/st as mentioned.

The second entry is another PC on the same LAN, and it does not connect, the browser on that PC times out when I try to connect to the ST machine at http://192.168.1.206:8080/.

The ST machine is at 192.168.1.206 -- ifconfig gives

wlp0s20f3: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 192.168.1.206 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.1.255

and I can ping the ST machine from the other PC at that address.

Also checked using 192.*.*.* in the Whitelist. No joy.

Thank you!

Its funny you say this I had exactly the same result on Window 10 Professional. You will find my thread on here same error . I thought it might be something to do with firewall . But my firewall has route through for player and was informed on here that's all what is needed . I still have not got a work around either . In regard to beta I reported back to the new GUI dev team as it seems to me the compiler maybe had linked wrong modules for the winamp dsp driver that my RadioBoss uses 6.9.0 version I tried vst plugins which it supports but none would load into it either . So I really cant test this out on beta either sorry we are in the same problems . I might try Microsoft tomorrow to see if they have a fix :)

This should not be a firewall issue . . . Port 8080 is a common alternative HTTP port used for web traffic.

Yes but in windows 10 you can only add an app not the .dll to the firewall I opened up all ports for Radioboss with no joy . However it does work from http://localhost:8080 on same machine. I wanted to run it on a phone but have not got it working . You must join same network wifi that is running the sound DSP. otherwise you may get different ip range . My ip is all routed locally for DNS and was done by a Microsoft engineer as the firewall was not seeing coming in data :

ip6
DNS Server
First box - 2606:4700:4700::1111
Second box - 2606:4700:4700::1001

To clarify, here ST is running on a Linux Ubuntu 22.04 PC. I can access its webGUI at localhost:8080. The machine I wish to access it from is a Windows 10 PC and it is on the same LAN, and it is Whitelisted in ST.

Hm, does the setting of "/0" work to enable access from any ip? You seem to be doing things correctly from my experience with the whitelist.

Thank you. Nope, "/0" doesn't help. And I didn't use the quotes.

In that case, I would say yes it also seems bugged. You're on a roll so far.

Nothing has improved this since i spoke to you on my other thread about this . I still think its related to net issues

Ok i tried ipconfig/all in dos shell to get my machines ip address which i then used in browser 192.168.0.34:8080 i got access denied. I tried then putting this in white list 192.168.0.34:8080 which then worked fabulous :0 winning . I did this same ipconfig /all on another machine now oddly under ip4 this gave same ip 192.168.0.34 its no wonder its not working lol

ok so i am having trouble getting my mobile local IP address on wifi but found an app you get it then realized if i tried to get access the wonderful screen gave my IP lol. So this now works on my mobile yay , one thing ticked off . important the white list is your IP you connecting from ie IP of mobile when connecting to your machine with eg 192.168.0.23:8080 on the end which has dsp, happy days :)

Now when this is not authorized it gives your IP address at bottom of not authorized screen which is perfect

The only thing is there is no level indicators which was what i wanted lol, but however the control is fantastic :) just as good as the sound of this great kit :)
