Hi all,

We have created a 64 bit Raspberry Pi image that runs MicroMPX on a Pi 3 or 4 with HifiBerry sound card. It's basically the same thing as the 32 bit image, but 64 bit software uses on average 10% less CPU than 32 bit software. Aside from this it works the same as the 32 bit image: Just download it, and write the .img image file to an SD card with software like Win32DiskImager.

If this image doesn't cause problems we'll phase out the 32 bit SD card image in the future - and use it as the basis for new Stereo Tool images.

OLD LINK - DO NOT USE THIS ANYMORE. -ttps://stereotool.com/download/MicroMPX_Pi34_64.zip

UPDATE! We've made this thing a lot easier to use.

  • We now have a smart starting tool, which will automatically fall back to an older version if new software or its web interface refuses to start.
  • The web interface of both MicroMPX and Stereo Tool contains a software update page. So you can update (and change between MicroMPX encoder, decoder and Stereo Tool) by uploading an installer via the web interface.
  • If you need to select a different HifiBerry sound card, that's also possible via the web interface now.

We'll probably post the installers for MicroMPX encoder/decoder and Stereo Tool tonight. Here's the main image, with MicroMPX decoder installed as default, but you can change that by uploading the installers as soon as we've posted them:

Here are the installers:

MicroMPX Decoder: https://www.stereotool.com/download/Thi ... 92-038.zip
MicroMPX Encoder: https://www.stereotool.com/download/Thi ... 92-038.zip
Stereo Tool: https://www.stereotool.com/download/Thi ... 92-038.zip

How to use these installers:
  • Open the web interface ( http://ip_of_pi:8080/ )
  • Go to system info (which is in different locations depending on which program is running)
  • Click on "Software update"
  • Select the .zip file and press "UPLOAD, UPDATE & REBOOT".
  • After some time, the Pi will reboot with the software that you installed.
This means that you can use this image to run MicroMPX encoder, decoder and Stereo Tool.

If you have a different HifiBerry sound card, you can also select the correct one on the same System Info page.

I'm excited to dig out my Pi4 and try this!!

Mine mysteriously stopped sending data via the mini HDMI ports a while back, so I have to use it in headless mode (which I've gotten to work just twice  ). Is this capable of headless mode out of the box? Sorry for my noobish questions as I've only started learning Linux for the sake of getting ST working.

Yes it's all headless. Just write the image to an SD card, boot and connect to IP:8080

It shows the IP address on screen on startup, but you can probably find it in your router or just try out IP addresses until you find the one that works.

Great Job, thank
Very easy to have Stereotool on raspberry.
Question: the login:mpx and psw:micro don't work anymore ?
I want to set an IP fixed, not attribuated by DHCP.
