I noticed this change just now... not sure what version of Stereo Tool where this changed... sometime after 9.02? I did try searching the forums for "compressor bands" but it said that both the words "compressor" and "bands" were not allowed as they were too common terms. I think this is a little over zealous. :P


Anyways, here's what it looked like for the longest time on 9 bands, the maximum number of bands:

Just curious as to the reason for this. Better transparency? Better sounding? Better spectral balance? (But isn't that what "Spectral Balance Compensation" is for?) Again, I'm probably missing it, but I couldn't find any reference to this change in the update logs.

32 dB/oct was really too much. It's good for consistency but it can easily sound unnatural.
