Latest version - Beta 002 (November 24 2020)

There is a new WatchCat beta!

Stereo Tool multi-instance version will probably be available as beta tomorrow.
Signed Mac OS X versions (for OS X 11.15) will probably be ready tomorrow as well.
Longest.... day.... Ever..... ;)

Ow..... :(
We got some urgent things that needed to be done first. I've actually sent that OS X beta to a few people with 11.15 and it worked there. So I guess I could just post it here as well... But everything is a bit 'in flux' now while I'm working on those urgent things.

Hans, do you think it's possible in Stereo section in stereotool where it says "protect against excessive reverb" to actually INCREASE reverb? Thank you.

When loading up the 32bit VST version in a host, before even spawning the GUI (I checked in the web interface), the Sub Bass Boost compressor EQ line is always flattened and needs to be loaded from a preset. I haven't tried other versions yet.

I find my cpu usage shoots up time to time. It'll typically be at 60% then it just goes to 90%! I'm using the DSP latest version released on stereotool.com

I see that too. I've been experimenting with the CPU settings, but the usage just takes off every now and then, then settles back down.

So, I use the Stereo Tool 32 bit VST from BreakawayOne's VST host (for the extra outputs), and when I try to load two of the 963b2 plugins with different names (one has BAO appended, and the other has BETA) I get this error when I load up the interface on the second instance.

What I'm trying to do is set up multiple VSTs so I can have a high intensity preset (effects that benefit from high CPU/buffer like declipper or true bass) I can choose to easily bypass, before a low intensity preset (low CPU/buffer like AGC4 and AutoEQ) that I use alone when playing games.

Am I doing it wrong?

Excitement!
Does that mean we can run multiple instances on Linux/Jack?
Windows for now, but that would be a good next step. (Well you can already run multiple intstances? But this is 1 process with an overview screen etc).
Actually no, we can't really run more than one instance in Linux/Jack. Simply because a) the jack client name, which must be unique, is fixed to "stereotool" (and I don't like messing with the hex editor to change letters), abd b) all settings are stored in ~/stereotool.rc (or similar), so will get overriden bei whichever instances closes last. That gives funny results on startup. That's why some of us asked for command line options for the GUI on linux to sepcify jack client name and sts file to load.

But having multiple instances in ONE gui would be better, of course.
Don't quote me on this, but... I think you should be able to run multiple instances if you just copy the executable and give the copy another name ("stereotool2" for example)

The .rc filename depends on the name of the executable

You are right. This has changed in a recent version, and what I reported was outdated. So yes, your solution works.
