Excitement!
Does that mean we can run multiple instances on Linux/Jack?
Windows for now, but that would be a good next step. (Well you can already run multiple intstances? But this is 1 process with an overview screen etc).
Actually no, we can't really run more than one instance in Linux/Jack. Simply because a) the jack client name, which must be unique, is fixed to "stereotool" (and I don't like messing with the hex editor to change letters), abd b) all settings are stored in ~/stereotool.rc (or similar), so will get overriden bei whichever instances closes last. That gives funny results on startup. That's why some of us asked for command line options for the GUI on linux to sepcify jack client name and sts file to load.

But having multiple instances in ONE gui would be better, of course.
Wait. I can't really check it now, but renaming the executable should fix all these issues. The Jack name is based on the executable name, and settings are saved under that name as well. At least that's how it's supposed to work... I haven't tested it recently.

Hi. I just tried WatchCat beta 6 and it still inserts an anti-piracy tone every 20 seconds, even with zero processing or transcoding (wav to wav). I'd love to be able to use this to show off the new AGC to some friends, but I can't send back a track full of zips and whistles. Thanks!

File comment: Better image of the tone. Looks cool in waveform as well.

Hans, do you think it's possible if we could get stereotool for Android? All we have to do is run music player in the background and choose in stereotool listen to internal audio, then plug in a dac and you can get 192khz mpx signal out.

Hi Hans,

just checkd with Ubuntu Studio 20.04 and the lastet 9.62 for Linux 64 Bit jack. The name is either stereo_tool if the executable name is unchanged, or the executable name itself if changed. So my point was invalid, it DOES work multi-instance in Linux Jack. That was different some months ago when I last checked, and I didn't recognise the change. Settings file is named in the same way.

Still curious about the overview screen...

Hm, yes, something did change... Do you still have that in 9.62? If so, can you send me your full settings (including the sound card settings, so do a SAVE -> EXPORT ALL)?

That should be fixed in this beta. Have you tried the latest beta?

Hi Hans,

I also tried BETA963-002, a different problem occurs,
if the backup input is active, the input vmeter turns yellow and both inputs sound and the audio begins to skip and I have to restart the stereo tool.
tested with vac, 2 virtual cables.
tomorrow, I will try with a physical multichannel sound card or with two sound cards.
