I think there are to many flushy highs in your presets. Try to listen to these radio stations on a DVBT or DVBC receiver and you will hear the differences.....

Man these stations In Romania ... all of them use over-modulation i was able to hear one of them ( talk about Kiss FM ) overdeviated man !!
Sound to high for this transmitter in Calarasi.
Because I`m from Bulgaria near to Calarasi and i am able to receive it.
All of Romanian Radios use very high compression , and i don`t know why ! It`s like typical for RO radios. I think that FM sound only needs to be balanced and limited only !

DJ-DOGGY is so right... my ear got trained to this overmodulated sound, over the years. Although i do not even notice anymore, i do notice "normally" modulated stations as soft.... FM+ Ruse, Darik Radio and Horizont Shumen are just some of the examples in neighboring BG (received quite well in Bucharest, Romania).

Among other countries that severly overmodulate hight frequencies might also be France (NRJ FM and RFI also employ this type of technique to attract listeners).

There's also an interesting article about this on Wikipedia (called "Loudness Wars").

Cheers !

Hi grasul ,
Yes this type of modulation is very interesting .
But every radio is free to use whatever it wants , (compression , limit ect.)
You are Romanian before everything , so You can write to stations and explain to them that this High compression is not useful , sound goes saturated and quality is gone :) . You can say them simply to use StereoTool :) We have stations in BG using it , like KatraFM - Plovdiv for so many years .

Have a good time and be cool !
Regards to all Romania :)
