This version of the preset changes:
  • Improved stereo image due to changed channel linking settings
  • More present mid-highs
  • Better bass in FM mode due to changed clipper settings

Are there any changes coming for regular Dutch Moose preset? If not, are there any improvements that worked for Dutch Chocolate Moose that would also apply to regular Dutch Moose? By the way, why are the two presets so different in sound but similar in name? Just curious.

Very likely, Dutch Moose has not been updated in a long time. Do you like its sound better?

We started a few years ago with the Dutch Moose preset, a fork of Wes Keene's Mousse preset (the name moose is a pun on mousse). The DM preset was used in the big Processing Freak Day demonstration in 2018. This is the main reason it's still there. Some time after I decided it did not sound "warm" enough compared to other typical Dutch radio stations. We then started working on a warmer version of Dutch Moose, which over time developed into something with a different sound altogether. The "chocolate" part refers to its warmness.

Do you have Sub Bass Boost on in your last preset? It doesn't charge when I load DCM from my PC.

I much prefer the old "Dutch Moose" as it sounds cleaner and more open to my ears. It does not sound dull or muddy at all. This is with a Classic/Album Rock music format. What I can say is that "Dutch Moose" and the old "Analog Pleasure" presets most closely resemble the typical Optimod FM processed stations used by mid size Rock stations here in the North East and Mid-West United States.

wooh.. optimod? Optimod will never allow to be like those 2 presets in their units. So no, it does not sound like optimod.

There was a bug in the saving of that setting, it's supposed to be on in this preset but it may indeed be off if you load it from this file. So, please turn it on manually.
