I listened to your preset for a long time. It seems to me that there is a little lack of "transparency, lightness". The sound is a little dull, as if through cloth. What do you think?

Might be, however is redesigned bands in MB, and currently making them to sound as close as possible to previous MB, and in same time to fix things like that.

That changes in your preset are included in 9.70 already?

Could this possibly relate to input levels / noise gating? If you disable the noise gate do you notice any difference?

Noise gate? It really depends on your input level Current settings is just fine around -6dB (-12 to -0) input, but for lower inputs you need to set lower thresh probably. So, there is no proper level for noise gate. Also AGC gate, since it reacts on input level too. So it can be dull on some very low inputs if noise gate is not set right.

Anyway, preset is not pushed with highs too much. It's maded to be open, big, and to have some dynamics especially on highs.
