I have created a very simple preset for Stereo Tool 5 that emulates VLevel's default characteristic. I have played some hundreds tracks - old and new from CD and my DVB MP2 (-3db, -6db, -9db pre-limited by the broadcasters). This Stereo Tool preset should replace VLevel. To me VLevel is now obsolete. There is only one small difference: The Stereo Tool preset adds a nice fade in characteristic. But this is only noticeable when you play an extraordinary loud (heavy compressed and limited) song and than start abruptly a new original very quiet (or dynamic) song.
