Hi Forums,

I want to evaluate ST as µMPX encoder and a standalone µMPX decoder, currently running on the same machine. I struggle to find the right IP to enter in µMPX decoder. It complains it's not a valid multicast address, whatever I put in. Any pointers?

You enter IP's in the encoder setup, not the decoder. Unless you want the decoder to subscribe to a multicast group. In the µMPX-section of ST you'll find a list to enter IP's into (as you're running locally 127.0.0.1 should do the trick).

Thank you for the reply - now it works. Why it didn't on first attempt I don't know. It works though it had still a radom Muticast address in the decoder settings.

That's the address it subscribes to, if that fails it's still able to receive data on the selected port. However it won't receive multicast traffic obviously.
