The problem with 32 bit (at least for VST) is that if you have a 32 bit application, you can't (easily) run 64 bit VST's and vice versa. The whole issue above is only caused by the fact that BaOne is a 64 bit program but apparently only supports 32 bit VST's - so a "bridge" is needed, which seems to be what's causing the issue. 32 bit in a 32 bit host and 64 bit in a 64 bit host both works fine.
Anyway, as you can see, even for the latest BaOne you need the 32 bit VST to be able to run it.... so it's definitely needed.
About XP: Since it doesn't make any difference for me, there's no good reason to
not support it. It's just one switch in the compiler settings. Sure, I could set it to something later - but that doesn't really have any benefits, just means that people can't run it on XP anymore. (And you would be surprised how many people have their processing pc's, often disconnected from the internet, still running XP, sometimes not even the latest service pack).
