I was checking the features of an omnia nine and what it make me tick is the feature called "Auto Pilot".And i think is a great idea to have it as an option in stereo tool as well.So that is my "Wish". I don't now if i am allowed to post links but i think that that would be a very good feature.

Thanks (i would like to hear your opinions as well)

I have several receivers that would have a problem with this.

First, I have one (which is only about 4 years old I think) that - once it's on mono - will never switch back to stereo anymore.
Another one (28 years old) will switch back to stereo, but with a delay of about a second.

It could still be good if you have a talk station and only sporadically play music. The few radio's that stay at mono might be outweighed by the improved reception.

Thank You Hans. So if there are recievers that have problems what can I say.... But i think it would be nice to be a selectable feature for station that don't have problem with these artifacts. And i think it will really help talk radios and radios with not much stereo content. BTW I have tested a lot of recievers in my area and non of them had problems with switching to mono and back to stereo.

Thanks Hans

That would make a really good feature. News syndication in my area is about 30 minutes long, mostly in mono. It would be nice to have an auto switching pilot tone feature.

The talk only (mono) format stations often have much less multipath issues in my area. Also our neighbor station that is using O9sg with autopilot on hasn't received much tuner issues than they expected.

Thank you. It would be really great to have this feature in ST :D

Yes it does actually makes a huge difference. Will test it further with my processor and report the results back (the only issue is finding a lot of receivers for tests).

I really would like this feature to be added. One of the biggest station here in France, Europe 1, use it now (or actually switch from mono to stereo according to program material), and I don't think anybody complains !
