I'm just curious. Is the bass boost more involved than simply re-adjusting the lower end of EQ spectrum? In other words, could the same effect be re-produced by any standard Equalizer or does the bass boost do a lot more than what meets the eye? I know some bass boosts will actually mess around with the harmonics to make you perceive it as far more intense than it really is.

It does indeed do something with harmonics (although it should probably do a lot more, haven't really figured out this yet).

Ok, thanks.

The reason I ask is that I am trying to find out what I can accomplish with my sound card's EQ and what I should offload to Stereo tool since I now run Stereo Tool through Windows audio system thereby allowing me to use for everything (Games, movies, etc). I will continue using the Bass Boost feature given what you said as I really like the effect.
