I'm just curious. Is the bass boost more involved than simply re-adjusting the lower end of EQ spectrum? In other words, could the same effect be re-produced by any standard Equalizer or does the bass boost do a lot more than what meets the eye? I know some bass boosts will actually mess around with the harmonics to make you perceive it as far more intense than it really is. |

It does indeed do something with harmonics (although it should probably do a lot more, haven't really figured out this yet). |

Ok, thanks. The reason I ask is that I am trying to find out what I can accomplish with my sound card's EQ and what I should offload to Stereo tool since I now run Stereo Tool through Windows audio system thereby allowing me to use for everything (Games, movies, etc). I will continue using the Bass Boost feature given what you said as I really like the effect. |
