Hm, I had hoped that it would show the instruction. I thought that there was a simple way of seeing instructions, but I couldn't find it. According to http://web.cecs.pdx.edu/~jrb/cs201/lect ... dbcomm.txt , you need to type:
display/i $pc

... must say i was sure it was a Pi 2 of the 1st generation ...case was very well closed,i did it with some glue because it opened always... from the outside no difference to see in B+ and Pi2, but i'm very sorry it was a B+ see it now by checking the cpu info...
i use debian , not raspian but that should make no difference I think?

this was the result of showing the instruction...but besides is the one it's normal it doen't work...
So i order a 3 and try with that :)

(gdb) display/i $pc
1: x/i $pc
=> 0x21bb4 <_GLOBAL__sub_I__ZN12AudioWrapper8IoWriterE+4>:
movw r4, #33364 ; 0x8254
(gdb)

Today testing with the raspberry Pi 3 but it's just like i get a menu with souncard outputs by the input and by the normal en fm output vice versa the souncards input ?

So it's when this was working it's just possible to play a file by pcm in/out...

i installed also VLC so normally it should be possible to take a stream as sound input, as usely by stereotool standalone...Hans can you make this?

However VLC is finding and playing with my external usb Steinberg UR12 192 khz soundcard.(ASIO)., not viewing in the Audio Device Settings....
I try also with the behringer ext usb UCA222, also working with VLC and ths one is viewing as USB AUDIO CODEC (Alsa mixer by the Audio Device Settings...

in StereoTool I don't see those cards ?

The Pi has no input! So you need to either use an external sound card, or get audio from another player that supports Jack. (Which - and that's a bug - you need to start *before* you start Stereo Tool).

thats the problem, like explain before, the Pi is working with external soundcard, but this is not seen in stereotool, why the VLC input does not work also, so we can put a stream on..?

I've had it working with Aqualung as player. Haven't tested VLC yet.

yes, with aqualung it's working but you have to follow a few steps..after installing it, first you have also to install jackd2...
i don't get it to work with VLC and external USB audio cards...even if they work with other programs on the Pi...

After starting up the Pi3(2) in the terminal tikking jackd -d alsa -p 4096 -n

...then you open a playlist in Aqualung, it's also posible by right clicking file to open a URL-stream (but from some reasons the streams stops playing after 15 minutes...), now in the jack port setup you have to click on playback 1 and 2 so they desapear...(outputs)
When you start Stereotool Pi you have to take aqualung out L and R for the input and systemplayback 1 and 2 foor the normal output..
this is the reason why you have to click them in the jack port setup, otherwyse you get 2 times the sound on the jack-output from the Pi.
Now you see in the jack port setup from Aqualung stereo_tool:in_l and r

This is working whit some breaks, i only use enable stereo, equalizer and multiband..level output indicated almost always red, but when i take less to get green, the output sound level is to low..

Here a picture ..
