Hello, I am looking for a low cost (around 100 € or less) FM transmitter (0,1 - 5 watt), with a mono input, no pre emphasis, no rds. I want to inject a mpx input made by stereo tool in the transmitter, but I can't find a model. Can you help me please ? Thank you Dorian |

0.1-5 watt is quite a big range, what do you want to do with it? Years ago when I created my RDS encoder I bought one of those battery powered transmitters that you can use to listen to an MPX player on your car radio - no stereo, rds or pre-emphasis, and I paid about 15 euro ($20) for it. With calibration (the big calibration panel that you should not need with a decent transmitter and sound card) I could get the Stereo separation to about 20 dB, which isn't great but enough to sound good. I have never measured the result with an analyser (I didn't have one yet at the time) so I cannot tell you if it was compliant... (modulation etc). |

Hi, Thank your for answering. I just want listening to my mpx signal on a Sangean ATS 909. I don't want a transmitter with stereo coder, pre emphasis and RDS. Thank you |

The EDM-TX-LCD-EP seems to be a stereo kit you build yourself. As it is a stereo unit so you won't be able to run MPX into it. The Tugicom one I linked you to is designed to accept an MPX input so you could run the 192kHz output of your Stereo Tool sound card into it with the MPX signal and it'll work as you want it to work, including your RDS. It is a built unit which comes with the LCD dispay and a ribbon cable connector to connect it to the circuit board. You plug in your MPX signal, a DC power supply and an antenna. Tune it to the frequency you want and away you go. The manual is at: http://www.tugicom.com/index-3.html select TX180A and you'll learn all about it. A solid and reliable unit. You can mount in a small case yourself if you require, depends on your needs. C. |

Actually, I bought that excact kit a few months ago, but I have to realize that I just never get the time to sit down and assemble it. If anyone is interested, I guess I could sell it for a low price, as the package is just collecting dust here at my place - which is a shame. Let me know. |
